Greening Your Business with Duncan Stewart

Greening Your Business with Duncan Stewart took place in Longford Golf Club as part of Longford Local Enterprise Week 2020. Duncan talked of the importance of small businesses and how they can make practical changes to help the environment and the value of doing so. Duncan was joined by local business persons Maria Kelleher (Goodness Grains) and Roy Davis (Super Valu, Longford) for their perspective on greening their business and how their business has benefitted from these actions.

The event also seen the launch of our new Going Green Programme by Michael Nevin, Head of Enterprise at Longford LEO and James Hogan of Clean Technology Centre. Going Green will assist micro-businesses in making environmental changes to their business with the help of a €5000 grant, access to an Environmental Auditor and a Programme Coordinator and complementary training workshops. 

Longford County Final for the National Enterprise Awards 2020

The Longford County Final for the National Enterprise Awards held in the fabulous Nine Arches in Ballymahon showcased the best of new business in County Longford. Vincent English, with his ground-breaking organisation 5ive Global was announced Longford County Winner. Congratulations was also in order for County Finalists Eilish Cassidy Mc Loughlin of Dial A Chef Catering, Olive McKeogh and John Byrne of Droplink and Michael Delaney of Midland Lighting. All enterprises are sure to increase the profile of County Longford as a place to do business into the future!

Longford Jobs Fair with Longford Intreo

Longford Jobs Fair in association with Longford Intreo and held in Temperance Hall in the centre of Longford Town brought in over 500 jobseekers looking for job opportunities and employment supports. Top employers the region such as Center Parcs, Pat the Baker, Avery Dennison, Tool & Plastic, Droplink, Goodness Grains, Framespace Solutions and Home Instead all attended with great job opportunities on offer. Employment supports from Intreo and other state agencies, as well as educational opportunities we also available.
